Chief Executive Officer, Chief of Sales and Marketing, Chief Operations Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Chief …. hmmm, where’s the rest of his title? wella yallah they had too many chiefs and ran out of titles so they assigned the guy as a chief of chiefs, lol :D! So there’s this first manager you work for who sounds tough but claims he knows what’s GOOD for you, and there’s this second manager, who’s nice and understanding in comparison with the first manager but knows what’s BETTER for you. But there’s you, and only you, who know what’s the BEST for you, so map your potential to your career prospects and take lead of your own career path. Do not settle for less in terms of it being a good choice, since there’s always what’s better than that if you search thoroughly. Be ware: there’s even the best that is to be accomplished on the long term. Do not engage too much with the upper management. Those commercial flashy smiles look very nasty and ugly from close-ups; at least for a simple straight forward person like me! People always care about being job secure, and it gets worse in a hardly surviving business. In fact, a job troubled human survives easier and better than any distressed business. Once a business is discontinued, there’s the shameful management that got used on a certain extravagant prestige level and will bear ultimately with the bitter expenses of the closure. Conversely, a laid off human is forced to start freshly and search for new opportunities which might open doors he/she wouldn’t have thought of knocking otherwise. Remember, only you can define your career path. Consulting and advising is allowed, but controlling … Nooooooo, not really. Be patient enough to reap extraordinary benefits and realize above average outcomes on the long term. Patience always pays back greater than the initial investment :)

Do not give up from the first few rounds if somebody is investing huge efforts to convince the management you are good for nothing. After a while, they’ll get tired of this marathon and discover the failure of their deseprate trials.
If you are really doing well in a job setting, they will cooperate, sooner or later.
