I can't recall how the conversation started but I remember one of the guys saying: "My eyes are so precious"; the other guy replied: "Well, my eyes are the most expensive in this firm; they're worth thousands of JDs". His answer seemed so funny and unexpected at the beginning that everybody started laughing, but it wasn't funny at all. On the contrary it was very sad. Staring deeply in those eyes, you won't resist taking a second look and maybe a third. Searching deeper you won't say except: "Angel Eyes is the least possible description for such big hazelnut eyes, facing a whole world of ambiguity and skepticism with so much of purity, enthusiasm and ambitions, filled with love, hope and honesty, where a lie can't stay silent or hide since it would reveal itself right away". The obvious imperfection of those eyes is what adds more beauty to them. Every time he looks at anybody, they would notice how much of a beauty and attraction underlies this imperfection; but still nobody can tell that Angel Eyes can hardly see the world! The vision in both of them is so weak, and in the left side it's weaker to an extent close to blindness. I started to wonder: "why doesn't he wear glasses?". I was told that his case is so advance that no glasses can be used, and the contacts he's already wearing are also a desperate help! The thousand JDs dilemma was solved when I found out that this 20 year old guy had to do a series of 4 operations minimum in his eyes in order to see or at least maintain this low level of vision; one of which was a cornea transplant. The first thought to invade my mind then was: "the glasses I started to wear recently, which I don't like the way they make me look, are a great bless I don't appreciate. A bless which others wish it would help them". Angel Eyes will always stay Angel Eyes, regardless their imperfection and inability to see the light shining so strong, because they were able to trap whoever looks at them and inspire them; at least to know how blessed we are and what great assets we own but don't consider. Dedicated to all those who lost the vision gift, partially or completely, because they see things we are sometime too blind to notice …
